Your INDEPENDENT Voice
Why Is Faye Running As An Independent?
In 2002 I became an Independent because I was tired of the Political Party process. Tired of
the political fighting, name calling and overall failure to bring positive results to our community.
Most of all tired of the major political parties blaming one another for the failure of our
government. Prior to becoming an Independent I was a Democrat. I remain true to the true
philosophies of the Democratic party and those of civil liberties and rights. The two party
political process is broken and the two sides are drifting further apart regarding a solution.
Instead of government we are getting more and more blame filled speeches aimed at the
opposing political party. I want to work for your interest and not those of a political party.
What Is An Independent?
- Independents do not belong to any political party.
- Independents are the fastest growing group of voters.
- Independents usually are often the determining voters in elections.
Especially close elections.
- Independents do not pledge allegiance to any political party. However,
Independents tend to lean towards a political party's ideology.
- Independents have a core platform of issues and beliefs.
- Independents respond directly to their community and not political parties.
- Independents are able to respond directly to their constituents without
worrying about going against political party doctrine.
- Independents work for the best interest of their constituents.
How Will She Be Able to Accomplish Anything Without Belonging to One of
The Major Political Parties?
Before I answer that, let me ask you this, what has either of the two political parties done in the
last 10 years that has made your life better? Remember both parties at one time had control of
the House or the Senate. The current catch phrase now is "reaching across the aisle." As an
Independent there is no aisle for me to reach across. I will be able to work on your issues
without a party tag. Two of the most successful current U.S. Senators are Independents. While
I hold opposing views to one, both have been able to return a lot to their respective Districts.
Senator Sanders was in fact a Congressman for years before the voters wisely elected him to
the Senate.
